Community Involvement Retrospective
With the new year approaching, we thought this would be a good time to look back and celebrate the Community Involvement Team’s impact in the last months of the year.
Let’s get in our New Year’s Eve Community Involvement Time Machine and look back…
- We were sponsors of the 2023 Lower Susquehanna River Keeper Association Dam Bridge Challenge. This event incorporates a series of paddle races, which celebrate the Susquehanna River and the work of the Lower Susquehanna River Keeper Association.
- We supported Help The Fight, a non-profit aimed at financially aiding those diagnosed with breast cancer. We were also sponsors at their 14th Annual Benefit in October!
- We donated school supplies to the Water Street Mission’s Wonder Academy whose mission is to invest in early childhood education for low-income families. Here were the donation haul numbers:
Pencil boxes : 12
Play Doh : 26
Pencils (both regular & Mechanical) : 90
Glue Sticks : 57
24 pk Crayola crayons : 19
Expo markers : 19
Backpacks : 5
Notebooks : 11
- We participated in the Junior Achievement YES! Program at West York Area Middle School. Members of the Community Involvement Team offered mentoring on the importance of financial and career decisions to students.
- Finally, we rounded out the year by donating toys to Toys for Tots! Thank you to all who contributed, organized, and worked to make this happen. Also, check out this spread:
